Johor Tigers to meet Jindal Steel and Power in the finals

New Delhi, Nov 11 (UNI) Johor Tigers defeated Majara 12-10 and Kingfisher First beat Jindal Steel and Power (JSP) 9-7 in the semi-finals of the Reid and Taylor Indian Open Polo Championship here today.

However, despite the win, Kingfisher First will not go to the finals as their goal difference is less then that of defeated JSP.

The finals of the tournament will be played tomorrow at the Jaipur Polo Grounds here.

Martin Ravina opened the scoring for Johor Tigers but Horacio Etchevery evened it out for the Majara team. Satinder Garcha then posted a superb second goal for Majara.

However, Santiago De Estrada was able to score a second goal for Johor Tigers.

In the fourth chukker, Johor Tigers' Ravina scored on a 60 yard penalty shot with a beautiful lofted shot. Catching up, Horacio promoted the ball through the goal posts to score for Majara. The chukker ended 9-8 in favour of Johor Tigers.

Fifth chukker was beset with whistles and penalty shots, only Ravina was able to successfully convert a 30 yard penalty shot taking Johor Tigers' lead up by two goals (10-8).

Johor Tigers scored twice in the last chukker to win the match and move into the final.
