J P Morgan Chase offers highest domestic stipend

Jamshedpur, Nov 11 (UNI) For the first time a US-based financial company, J P Morgan Chase, has offered the highest domestic stipned of Rs 2 lakh followed by Rs 90,000 from Yahoo and Hay Group during the summer placements of the renowned B-school XLRI here.

Talking to the mediapersons here today Director of XLRI Father N Casimir Raj said it was special placement in which altogether 56 companies offered including 15 new companies like Carlyle, Deutsche Bank, Faire Issac, Jonas Lang La Salle, Citi Financial, Rabobank and Tata HRLP.

Secretary Placement Committee XLRI Sandeep Murthy said two stundets signed out with J P Morgan Chase that included 25 per cent in the financial sector. While 25 per cent students singed out with offers from Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), 19 per cent with IT,17 per cent with Consultant and rest 14 per cent with other sectors, he said.

Mr Murthy said as many as six overseas offers were accepted which, however, three less than last year.

But this season's overall quality of placements was very high with the Banking, Finance and Insurance sector saw a sharp increase in number of accepted offers, he added.
