Gas leak blast injures two at Pakistani hotel
Rawalpindi (Pakistan), Nov 3: A blast caused by a gas leak injured at least two people in a hotel in Pakistan's garrison town of Rawalpindi today, police said.
Police said the blast occurred in a room at the Continental Hotel, injuring the occupants.
''The bomb disposal squad have examined the site and found gas was leaking from a nozzle, and one of the injured men said the explosion happened when he lit a cigarette,'' Senior Superintendent of Rawalpindi Police, Saood Aziz, told Reuters.
The hotel stands close to offices of the military spy agency, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
Pakistani security forces are in a state of constant vigilance against attacks by Islamist militants angered by President Pervez Musharraf's alliance with the United States in a war on terrorism.
