Bangalore, Oct 30: The Rural IT Quiz conducted by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), as part of the Bangalore IT.in the mega exposition, attracted more than 9.50 lakh students in the state.

St Joseph's School of Hassan emerged the state champions with an impressive show in the final held here yesterday. While Little Rock of Udupi finished first runnerup and Forbes Acadeny of Gokak the second runnerup.

This quiz programme has entered the Limca's book of records as first IT quiz for rural students in India. TCS is conducting this programme for the seventh year in succession. It attracted the maximum entries this year.

The questions were enough to stump a person with an average knowledge in IT, but not the finalists. They had all the answers to even the most difficult questions. The final round proved to be a battle of brains and nerves.

The winners pocketed a trophy and TCS scholarship worth Rs 65,000. The next two best received scholarships of Rs 35,000 and Rs 20,000 respectively.
