Zunheboto public evict warring NSCN factions

Kohima, Oct 29 (UNI) After a three-day-long inter-factional clash between both the rival factions of the NSCN since Thursday, the irate public of Zunheboto raised slogans and took out a rally which marched towards the Amiphoto Colony of the town.

Both the factions were engaged in fierce gun battle and chased all the cadres from the area last evening.

Official sources said annoyed over the gun battle and fleeing of the residents of Amiphoto colony, the people of Zunheboto town led by the Sumi Totimi Hoho, Sumi Kukami Hoho and also members of the Sumi Hoho gathered.

They marched to the residence of the Zunheboto Deputy Commissioner (DC) and damaged his property as their pleas to the district administration and security forces to intervene went unheeded.

The rally than marched towards the Amiphoto colony in two batches shouting slogans, where both the rival factions of the NSCN were engaged in fierce gun battle, and demanded to leave the civilian area immediately, which the underground factions followed.

Last evening the NSCN-IM cadres proceeded towards Sukhalu village area, while the NSCN (K) cadres went towards Shotomi village area of the Zunheboto district.
