NER chiefs to meet on good governance at Dimapur
Kohima, Oct 29 (UNI) The Nagaland government is organizing a two-day regional conference on "Fostering Good Governance" at Dimapur from November two.
According to official sources here today, the Chief Secretaries, Additional Chief Secretaries and senior bureaucrats from all the North Eastern states, West Bengal and Orissa are expected to attend the conference, to be inaugurated by Nagaland Governor Shyamal Datta. Sources said senior officials from the Centre, North Eastern Council (NEC) and other states will present topics on reform initiatives, empowering civil services, improved public service delivery, enabling environment for good governance, internal security concern, IT in the North Eastern region and reforming public services in the country.
Panel discussions on the challenges of governance, special communication and infrastructural needs of the North East will also figure in the two-day programmes.
The state government was organising this programme in collaboration with the Department of Administrative reforms and Public Grievances, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pension, Government of India and Police Training Institute, Dimapur, sources said.
