Bhopal, Oct 29 (UNI) The murder of legislator Kishori Lal Verma, deteriorating law and order situation, Sindh river tragedy, wrath of dengue and chikungunya and starvation deaths in tribal areas are some of the issues likely to be raised by the Opposition to put the Madhya Pradesh Government in the dock during the winter session of the state assembly beginning October 31.

The assembly session, which will conclude on November 10, will comprise nine sittings.

Leader of Opposition in state assembly Jamuna Devi told reporters here that the Opposition will rake up irresponsible statement made by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in connection with Ujjain's Madhav College Professor H S Sabharwal's murder and non-tabling of details of property by ministers.

Criticising the state government for keeping assembly session for short duration, Ms Devi alleged that government wanted to avoid discussion on issues related to public welfare.

She said the government will be cornered over lifting of a ban on government officials and permitting them to take part in RSS activities. Besides, it would be put in the dock on the law and order front for not taking action against Bajrang Dal and VHP workers.

The Congress will also raise the issue of alleged harassment of BJP legislator's daughter by his father.

Expressing concern over increasing number of deaths from chikungunya and other diseases in the state, the Congress leader said purchase of fake medicines and improper arrangement by the health department was continuing.

Pointing out that tribals were forced to eat 'chapatis' made from grass due to lack of foodgrain in Chhatarpur, Sagar and other districts, the Opposition leader said she would not hesitate from taking 'chapatis' made from grass in the House in order to attract attention towards the issue.

Other issues to be raised include parading a tribal woman in nude in Harda, murder of three people of a particular community in Ujjain and rise in number of dacoities in the state capital.

Opposing acquisition of fertile land for Pithampur auto-testing centre and providing less compensation, she said the state's industrial policy had left several youths unemployed.

Earlier, SP legislator Sunilam has said his party will corner the state government over power, road, black-marketing of fertiliser and rise in the price of necessary items besides other issues.
