Marwari film to be produced and shot in Sikkim

Gangtok, Oct 29 (UNI) After being captured in countless pictures, the panoramic beauty of Sikkim with the mighty Kanchendonzga in full splendour, will be brought alive in a locally produced Marwari film as shooting is set to begin from December.

S K Audio Vision proprietor Rakesh Somani would play the roles of director, editor and producer in this venture.

''Basically, this Marwari film will be based on family drama and a purely commercial movie with songs and masala in it.

''Shooting would commence from December,'' Mr Somani said.

Mr Somani had earlier directed several video albums and yet the untitled Marwari film would be his maiden venture in a full length film.

''We will have six to eight songs and the movie will be around two and half hours'', he said.

Mr Somani's film is set to be the first Marwari film to be produced from Northeast Region and West Bengal. Pramod Dalmiya, another local businessman, is also the co-producer in this venture, he informed.

The cast for the film would be selected from Sikkim and North Bengal region after a professionally conducted audition. The total budget of the film would be around Rs 15 lakhs if things fall according to plans, shooting will finish in one and a half months, he said.

After editing and proper marketing, the film would be released by April-May under the banner of S K Audio Vision.

A major chunk of the shooting will be done in Sikkim and focus would be to capture the natural beauty of the Himalayan state.
