Drug inspectors conduct raids at chemist shops

Moga, Oct 29 (UNI) A team of four drug inspectors, accompanied by officials of health department today conducted raids at two chemist shops and their stores and took into possession a large quantity of banned medicines being used as drug by addicts.

The team sealed at least 33 boxes carrying banned medicines.

According to official information, these chemists were reportedly still selling medicines even though their licences had beed suspended following a CBI report.

About a month back, a team of CBI from Delhi also conducted raids upon these shops, stores and even their factory manufacturing such medicines being used as drug.

The CBI team found these medicines during a raid at Delhi chemists and based on that information, it conducted raids at chemist shops and factory situated at Dagru near here on Moga-Ferozepur road.

According to health department, the owners of these two medical stores supply these banned medicines in bulk to the chemists specially in Malwa belt and Delhi.
