New Delhi, Oct 29 (UNI) Medical personnel today came out in support of the three-day Delhi Bandh called by traders in Delhi from tomorrow in protest against the proposed sealing drive of the MCD from November 1.

In a statement here today, the Delhi Medical association said,''we have decided to actively participate in and provide whole-hearted support to the agitation against the sealing and demolition drive.'' Stating that the recent modifications in the Master Plan 2001 had sent shock waves among medical professionals in the city, the DMA said,''our endeavour has been to register our protest without paralysing medical services but now we cannot sit and continue to sit and watch as the draconian act jeopardizes the future of our members and medical establishments of the city, thereby hitting the healthcare facilities.'' While on the first two days of the bandh, DMA members will register their protest by wearing black badges and holding dharnas, on Novemeber 1, regular medical services woull be shut down.

Emergency medical services would, however, continue to function.

The bandh has already evoked support from educational professionals since many educational institutes have also come under the purview of the sealing drive.
