Ahmedabad, Oct 29 (UNI) The Gujarat Forest Department recently issued a summons to Bollywood actor Aamir Khan to appear before it on November 6 for questioning with respect to shooting a film on Chinkara deer, a protected species, without proper permission.

A complaint in this regard had been lodged by Amit B Jethava, president of the Gir Nature Youth Club and a former member of the State Wildlife Advisory Board.

Notices have been issued to three others of Aamir Prodctions Pvt Ltd -- Ashutosh Gowarikar, Aamir's estranged wife Rina who was then the chairperson of the production company, and a camera man.

Mr Jethava, while speaking to UNI today, alleged that it was the then assistant conservator of forest Kutch (east) division M R Gajjar, who in flagrant violation of the rules, had allowed the film to be shot.

Aamir Khan's counsel had come to Bhuj following an earlier notice by the chief conservator of forest R L Meena a month back and demanded evidence of wrong-doing by his client.

Mr Jethwa had lodged the first complaint against Aamir Khan Production on July 10, this year with deputy conservator of forests A T Korwaria for filming Chinkara. However, no FIR has been registered.
