cases not withdrawn against cola companies: Health Minister

Udupi, Oct 29 (UNI) Karnataka Health Minister R Ashok today said the four cases filed against cola companies had not been withdrawn by the state government.

Speaking after an official meeting here he said it was only the Karnataka government that had banned the sale of these areated drinks on education a campuses. The hearing of the cases would come up before the court tomorrow, he said.

Replying another query the minister said that Bill Gates Founation had given a grant of Rs 40 crore to create AIDS awareness programme.

The HIV or AIDS cases in the state stood at 2.6 per cent and government was working on a action plan to bring down one percentage, he added.
