Shejwar refuses to resign from MLA's post
Bhopal, Oct 28 (UNI) Suspended BJP leader Gauri Shankar Shejwar, a close confidante of former Chief Minister Uma Bharti, today refused to resign from the post of legislator asserting his fight for justice will continue.
''There is no internal democracy and freedom of expression in the BJP. However, I will not resign from the post of legislator due to the insistence of voters,'' Dr Shejwar, who had reportedly garlanded Ms Bharti and attended Bhartiya Jan Shakti workers meeting at Raisen two days ago, told reporters.
Refuting allegations of violating party's constitution and involvement in anti-party activities, he said he had discharged his responsibilities honestly and efficiently.
Hitting back at the BJP, the former state minister said for BJP general secretary and party president Rajnath Singh had violated party constitution and democracy while selecting BJP Legislature Party leader in Bhopal on November 28, 2005.
''Ms Bharti had tried her best to protect internal democracy and constitution of the party but Mr Singh and other party leaders not only crushed their voice but also insulted them,'' he said.
