CPI(M) demands govt cancel acquisition of lands
Hyderabad, Oct 28 (UNI) Communist Party of India, CPI (M) state unit today demanded that the government should cancel the notifications issued to acquire fertile lands near Chilakaluripet and Bapatla in Andhra Pradesh to establish textile parks.
According to a press release here, CPI (M) state Executive member Y Venkateswara Rao alleged that the government had issued notification without consulting the farmers or organising a public hearing.
Small and marginal farmers would lose their livelihood once the fertile lands were acquired by the government, he claimed.
He urged the government to find out alternative places to set up the textile parks.
