Ahmedabad, Oct 8 (UNI) West Indies bundled out Zimbabwe for a paltry 85 in 30.1 overs to take control of the Champions Trophy qualifying match at the Sardar Patel Stadium, Motera, here today.

Electing to bat after winning the toss, Ziimbabwe put up another spineless batting performance folding up for 85 with just less than 20 overs left in their allotted 50 with opener T V Mufambisi being the top scorer with 18 which he made with the help of two boundaries facing 31 balls.

This was the eighth time that the Zimbabweans have been dismissed for less than 100. They also registered a dubious record of scoring their lowest Champions Trophy total beating the previous 145 against hosts England in the last edition.

For the West Indies, Chris Gayle was the most successful bowler with three wickets for three runs, while Jerome Taylor and Dwayne Smith took two wickets each.
