Belgaum, Sep 26 (UNI) Karnataka chief minister H D Kumarswamy today termed the speech of Maharashtra deputy Chief Minister R R Patil at the Marathi speaking persons convention here provocative and said such things would spoil the environment of a peaceful society.

Talking to newsmen here, he said it is unbecoming to a minister to deliver such provocatory speeches in another state. The people's representatives should have some principle and patriotism towards the nation and never attempt to spoil the harmony of society.

If there were more people belonging to other language in Bangalore, it could not be transfered to the state of their language or be kept under the central rule for the reason that some neighbouring state minister demanded it.

Asserting once again that the Mahajan Commission report on the border row was final and binding on the concerned states, Mr Kumarswamy cautioned that other state ministers should not spoke their noses in the affairs of another state and show their narrow mind.

He said Mahajan commission was formed at the behest of Maharashtra and its report was binding on the all the concerned states and Mr Patil being Maharashtra deputy chief minister should not have delivered such a provocative speech.

Deputy chief minister B S Yadiyurappa, who spoke to newsmen after BJP legislature party meeting said the government would take one more delegation to the centre on the border issue.

He appealed to the marathi-speaking people to remember that the land they live in was Karnataka and they owe a lot to it. They should live in harmony with Kannadigas as their dream of merging with Maharashtra would not materialise at any cost.
