Sugar prices rise on increased in fresh demand

Mumbai, Sep 18 (UNI) Wholesale spot sugar prices rose on increased in fresh demand, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants' Association today said.

Sugar of small and medium grades went up by Rs 11 and Rs seven per quintal, on lesser stocks supply.

Sugar of ex-mill small grade hiked by Rs 15 on improed demand, while medium grade fell by Rs five per quintal on thin buying support.

Following were the spot sugar wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,782/1,816, medium grade: Rs 1,806/1,855.

Ex-mill: small grade: Rs 1,765/1,780, medium grade: Rs 1,775/1,825.
