Bangalore, Sep 14 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today sought the cooperation of officials to implement schemes effectively for the development of the State.

Addressing a meeting of Deputy Commissioners and Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officers, he said the role of officials was significant for the better implementation of development works in this liberalised economy.

Calling for a new mindset to respond to public grievances, Mr Kumaraswamy said the administration should consider media reports seriously and act immediately.

He asked the officials to produce more data on the relief works being taken up in the areas affected by drought and flood, besides about housing schemes in their respective districts.

Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa said stress should be laid on proper maintenance of law and order, particularly in the naxal-infested areas of the State, and distributing ration cards to Below Poverty Line families.
