B'lore BPO murder: Kishore confesses to crime
Bangalore, July 27: Prime suspect in the murder of 32-year-old BPO employee Tania Banerjee, Kishore Gururaj has confessed to the crime.
The police had detained Kishore, who was Tania's co-worker, for questioning earlier on Thursday.
Tania's body, bearing stab injuries, was found almost 200 km from Bangalore near Hassan on Wednesday.
"She left work around 9:30 pm. She was working in the BPO Aviva. She lived in Frazer Town," informed BS Sial, DGP, Karnataka.
It is inevitable that the murder will recall the tragic murder of Pratibha Srikant Murthy - another young call centre employee who was murdered by a man who picked her up from home pretending to be the official driver.
While this will once again raise concerns about the safety of call centre workers and their unusual working hours, the police seem clear that the murder was unrelated to her work.
