Queen Elizabeth II shocked at Mumbai blasts

Mumbai, July 15 (UNI) Queen Elizabeth II has expressed shock at Tuesday's serial train blasts in Mumbai.

In a message to Governor S M Krishna, the Queen said a sense of horror at these terrible acts has been deeply felt in the United Kingdom together with the greatest sympathy and admiration for all those coping with their consequences.

''My thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of all those killed and injured,'' she said.

The British Deputy High Commissioner in Mumbai Vicki Treadall has reiterated the offer of support and specialist assistance from the UK.

The Governor has conveyed his thanks to the Queen for her message to the people of Mumbai, a Raj Bhavan press release issued here today said.

Meanwhile, Mayor of London Ken Livingstone, in a message to Mumbai Mayor Datta Dalvi, said he was appalled and saddened by the dreadful terrorist attack. The thoughts of all Londoners are with those who have lost their loved ones and the many people who had suffered terrible injuries. ''Please accept London's sympathy and support at this difficult moment. I Know that Mumbai will not be deflected from its course by indiscriminate terror,'' the London Mayor said in his message.
