BEML bags Rs 42 cr export order from Tunisia, Syria

Bangalore, July 13 (UNI) Overcoming stiff international competition, defence and mining equipment public sector Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) has won an order worth Rs 42 crore from Tunisia and Syria for supply of mining equipment and spares.

A BEML release here said the machines comprised 85 tonne rear dump trucks and motor graders which would be deployed by customers CPG, Tunisia and Gecopham, Syria for their opencast mines and rock-phosphate projects.

The company, which had already opened sales and services office in China, Singapore and Morocco, was further expanding its overseas markets with a focus on Latin America, Africa and Indonesia. Last fiscal it had logged an export of Rs 61 crore and aimed at doubling it this year.
