New cricket academy for Chandigarh villages
Chandigarh, June 29 (UNI) In order to cater to the needs of the villages surrounding southern sectors in Chandigarh and parts of Mohali, a cricket academy will soon come up at St Stephen's School in Toga.
The Desh Prem Azad Academy and the Mohali Cricket Association may join hands together in this ambitious project. Negotiations are in the final stages for setting up of the Academy and is likely to be adopted by the MCA as a regional coaching centre.
Announcing this here today, Azad Academy Director Dronacharya Desh Prem Azad said in a statement that the academy at Toga, would be one of the recognised coaching centres of the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA).
Mr D P Azad, who is coach of cricket icon Kapil Dev, Ashok Malhotra, Yograj Singh and a number of other international stars, is chairman of the Coaching Committee of the Punjab Cricket Association as well as its selector.
