Genus Overseas bags order from West Bengal

Jaipur, Apr 21 (UNI) The Jaipur based Genus Overseas Electronics Limited, one of the largest producers of single phase multifunction electronic energy meters, has bagged an order of Rs 117.65 crore from West Bengal State Electricity Board for argi metering.

This is the biggest ever order to be announced by any state electricity board for a metering project in recent times.

The order is for metering of tube-wells in agriculture fields in different districts of West Bengal.All these meters will be three phase meters and the reading for these meters will be through low power radio equipments (LPR), which is part of automatic meter reading project developed by the company through its in-house research and development.

The meters will be supplied over six months. The company has orders in hand above worth Rs.450 crore as on date.

Genus Overseas Electronics, which is part of the Rs 1,000 crore Kailash Group,manufactures more than 1.3 million meters per annum.

The company manufactures inverters, hybrid micro-circuits and resistor network and printed circuit boards. The company also undertakes turnkey projects in the power distribution sector scaling up its operations from meter to metering.

The company has tied up with Mobix to develop and manufacture Energy Management Systems (EMS) using AMR technology to monitor power distribution billing. Genus Overseas has also tied up with Corintech, a UK-based company for Hybrid Micro Circuits (HMC). The company has a strong R&D team, which constantly upgrades its products to meet international quality standards.
