Faridabad, Mar 31 (UNI) Chaos reigned supereme outside the Nahar Singh Stadium, venue of the second one-dayer between India and England, and even children were not spared as policemen lathicharged indiscriminately at fans and the waiting media here.

With no sight of any Haryana Cricket Association (HCA) official, the policemen and their batons took control of the situation outside gate number one and seven, where people trying to get inside were beaten up.

The most harrased were the scribes, who struggled to get inside amid total chaos, and it took the media people over an hour and a half to enter the press box only to find no internet facility at the venue of an international match.

Journalists were pushed and shoved by the policemen, who were also at their abusive best hurling slurs at people trying to enter the stadium.

Lathicharge was also reported from the other gates and one Mumbai based journalist tripped to the ground as the situation went from bad to worse here.

India has a poor record at the stadium, which has a capacity of 25,000, and have won only one of the five ODIs played here and that too against Zimbabwe.
