Thousands pay their last repects to Devarajan
Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 16 (UNI) Thousands of people from different walks of life today paid their last respect to famous music director G Devarajan who died in Chennai yesterday.
State Culture Minister A P Anilkumar and Public Works Minister M K Muneer received the body at the Thiruvananthapuram International Air Port .
The body was later kept at the VJT hall in the city where a huge crowd turned up to pay their last respect to the departed maestro.
Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and other leaders also paid their last respects.
The body was then taken to Devarajan's hometown Paravoor in Kollam district. The cremation would take place with state honours at Paravoor tomorrow.
Devarajan died of heart attack in Chennai yesterday. In his five-decade-long musical career, he had scored music for over 350 Malayalam films and also for a few Tamil films.
