VAT to be introduced in Jharkhand from April
Ranchi, Mar 10 (UNI) Finance Minister Ragubor Das today announced that Value Added Tax (VAT) would be introduced in Jharkhand from April one.
Presenting the budget for 2006-07 in the assembly, he also said businessmen having annual turnover of up to Rs 50,000 lakhs would enjoy optional process of tax returns.
He also announced that Jharkhand would be developed as a herbal state.
In all 20 of the 22 districts were earlier brought under national rural employment guaratee programme. The other two districts were included in the budget to cover the entire state, he said.
