Varanasi, Mar 9: The Special Task Force (STF) of the Uttar Pradesh police today (Mar 9, 2006) released photo identity kits of two persons suspected involvement in the serial blasts in Varanasi which claimed 17 lives.

DIG (Varanasi range) R N Yadav told sources here that the computer generated sketches of the two are based on statemnts of shop-keepers of Godolia area where a live bomb was defused on Tuesday, minutes after the first bomb ripped through the famous Sankatmochan temple.

''The sketches would be provided to all police stations and pasted at public places,'' he added.

Mr Yadav said the duo had purchased a doormat for Rs 100 from a shopkeeper in Godolia and left their bag saying they would collect it later. However, when they failed to return, the vendor informed the police, following which live bombs were recovered by the bomb disposal squad and difused.

Meanwhile, principal secretary home Alok Sinha, DGP Yashpal Singh, ADG (law and order) Acharya Palnivel are camping in Varanasi.
